Interwoven Open Deploy
Hypergrowth dictates that you must automate your content deployment to achieve scalability on the production end. Without an architecture that's powerful enough to securely push all asset types to multiple servers, you will not be able to fast-track your Web initiatives.
Interwoven® OpenDeploy is enterprise-class content replication software. It provides organizations with a secure, flexible, and scalable solution for cross-platform, transactional transfer of content to multiple servers.
OpenDeploy empowers users to:
- Mobilize their Web services team with a browser-based graphical user interface that controls and monitors content deployments remotely
- Segment enterprise initiatives and responsibility with fine-grained deployment user rights
- Automate content distribution to multiple tiers of development, QA, and production servers inside and outside the firewalls, without loss of control
- Ensure Web site integrity via transactional content replications to multiple server farms
- Deploy content to the right place at the right time using a built-in, persistent job scheduler
- Synchronize file-system assets and database content for Web applications via tight integration with Interwoven TeamSite and DataDeploy products
Businesses that depend on a customer-facing Web presence cannot afford to host Web sites with stale or inaccurate information. Nor can an enterprise afford to operate with data on its intranet that isn't always current and available. OpenDeploy helps you easily manage the flow of all your data by enabling the secure, transactional transfer of Web content. By automating the content deployment process, OpenDeploy lets you optimize your Web presence both inside and outside of your enterprise.
Browser-based Graphical User Interface
The OpenDeploy GUI allows deployment users and administrators to control, schedule, administer, and monitor deployments. Using the GUI, content deployment operations can be performed from anywhere across the network without loss of control. OpenDeploy supports efficient content deployments, which can be based on
- Directory comparisons between source and target file-systems
- File lists
- Comparison of Web site versions managed within Interwoven TeamSite
- User Authentication and Deployment Authorization
A flexible user authentication and deployment authorization mechanism enables enterprises to delegate and authorize content deployment to users. Authorization may be granted to each user on a per-deployment and per-server basis according to the user's role. Detailed logging and authorization allow IT organizations to maintain full control of content deployments.
Transactional and Secure Deployment Across Multiple Servers
OpenDeploy enables content to be distributed and replicated in a transactional manner, which ensures Web site integrity across all target systems. A failure during a transactional deployment on one target system will cancel the deployment, rollback the transaction and return the Web site to its original state. Content deployment outside the firewall can be transferred securely using standard SSL protocol to protect enterprise-sensitive information. OpenDeploy supports 40-bit symmetric key transfer, as well as 56- or 168-bit asymmetric key encryption. Port authentication ensures that OpenDeploy target receivers are communicating with only trusted, known senders.
Multi-tiered Deployment Chaining
OpenDeploy supports multi-tiered deployment topologies, which are critical to the global expansion of enterprise-class businesses. OpenDeploy can be easily configured to chain deployments from one tier to the next.
Persistent Deployment Job Scheduler
The built-in scheduler includes a persistent database and allows users to schedule jobs for timed deployments or recurring intervals. Jobs may be scheduled or inactivated using the OpenDeploy GUI.
Deployment Logging for Compliance and Archival
The detailed deployment logging facility enables the creation of comprehensive log files for archival and troubleshooting while performing content deployments. Log files on sender and receiver systems provide audit trails that can be used to satisfy compliance requirements by proving the presence of Web site content at specific times.
Reverse Deployment
Reverse deployment enables content to be pulled from a production server to a server in the development or QA environment. This enables a production server to be cloned as the basis for a new Web site.
Deploy-and-Run Facility
OpenDeploy offers event trigger support for external scripting, which allows organizations to execute programs and scripts before or after deployments. This feature can be used to tailor deployment activities, such as to start and stop the Web server or to send an automatic e-mail notification.
Cross-platform Deployment
OpenDeploy is capable of cross-platform content transfer between UNIX or NT platforms.
Site Rollback
OpenDeploy can be easily integrated with Interwoven TeamSite or other development solutions to revert production servers to any previous version of a Web site.
Synchronize File-system and Database Content
OpenDeploy is integrated with Interwoven DataDeploy to enable file-system assets and database content to be synchronized.
