News › ATG Users Group

The ATG Users Group (ATG-UG) is a forum for discussion of ATG-related topics, a resource for technical questions and a way to communicate about ATG events and news. The mission of ATG-UG is, "To provide an unbiased forum for the exchange of information and ideas for the ATG user community. To bring together and make available valuable resources from ATG experts, end-users and ATG which enable the entire community to get the most from their IT investments."

The ATG-UG web site, www.AtgUsersGroup.org, is an efficient tool for all members of the ATG Community. The web site posts all the latest news and events pertaining to ATG.

Formerly known as the Dynamo Users Group (DUG) and first established in 1999, ATG Users Group (ATG-UG) completed the migration of the site from a Dynamo 5.1 non-portal site to an ATG 6 portal site featuring ATG Publishing. The site was formally launch in mid-December 2002 to celebrate ATG's annual summit, the ATG 2003 Open, January 27-29th Doral Resort, Miami, FL.

Over 3,000 people have become registered members of www.AtgUsersGroup.org over the past 3 years. Along with the migration and additions of new functionality, Users Group members enjoy benefits which include:

  • Forums - a six-category message board containing over 14,000 posts.
  • Resources - a rich technical resource library comprised of periodicals, books, videos, white papers, and web links that contain technical information relevant to those working with ATG.
  • Case Studies - more than 60 case studies are posted to date with new additions frequently. Case studies enable users to see how others are creatively applying ATG-based solutions to their business needs.
  • News - real-time information on the latest ATG products, partners and related technologies.
  • Events - information on current industry events and those directly designed for users of the ATG platform. In many cases users can register for events directly from the www.AtgUsersGroup.org site.

Although the site is a great place to start, it is no substitute for attending a DUG meeting.

The Users Group's first meeting was held in the Washington, D.C. area in August of 2000, since then ATG-UG's (formerly known as DUG) have been founded in New York City and San Francisco, with discussions of new groups in many other major cities. ATG-UG meetings provide an open forum for end-users, ATG integrators, ATG-complimentary software partners, and ATG to interact and discuss relevant issues and challenges. Guest speakers, representing all four factions of the ATG Community, lead discussions on product innovations, case studies, and complimentary technologies.
