Senior Architect/Team Lead of Software Development Center

OPPORTUNITY

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Architect will build and lead a team of developers to implement solutions to the specific needs of the various clients of our U.S. based company, primarily using ATG Dynamo. Business needs must be translated into effective technical solutions using several core technologies (web applications from ATG and others, Interwoven TeamSite, and related technologies like Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, Oracle, SQL, HTML, XML, UML). Scalable, complex, transactional web sites will be created quickly by leveraging commercial tools.

This position's responsibilities also include:

  • Review technical requirements with the U.S. based development team.
  • Build upon commercial web application products (the ATG Dynamo Suite) with custom code.
  • Develop and document customizations to commercial products to meet the client's requirements including object oriented design (UML), security definition, workflow flowcharts, database changes, screen changes, and custom documentation.
  • Experience with Java is required, experience with J2EE desired. Other coding languages/environments may include but are not limited to SQL, Visual BASIC, HTML, XML, and/or JavaScript.
  • Assist U.S. based development team in analyzing client processes through needs analysis and recommending new business models.
  • Responsible for assisting with the hiring, managing and mentoring of developers.
  • Assist the U.S. based development team in documentation of requirements analysis, design specifications, user's guides, or project work plan.
  • Assist with overall project management, time estimates, and resource scheduling.
  • Travel to U.S. HQ site or client sites as needed (up to 25%)
  • Provide weekly written status and expense reports.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of five years overall experience in enterprise-scale application development and integration. Minimum of two years in the role of technical architect or technical team lead.
  • Very high level of proficiency with ATG Dynamo is mandatory.
  • Experience with offshore development model(s) required.
  • Exposure to software development lifecycle, such as experience with RUP, eXtreme Programming, and UML is required.
  • Knowledge of database (Oracle) technologies, networking, and operating systems is required.
  • Experience in formal development methodologies (OOD, UML, RUP, WBS, CMM, etc.).
  • Experience with web site design (GUI tools, "user experience" designing, site structuring) and web technologies (HTML, Javascript, CSS, Perl, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with Java is required; experience with J2EE preferred.
  • Familiarity with architecting solutions is required (3-tier, H/W & S/W recommendations, load balancing, deployment).
  • Familiarity with UNIX, Win2K system configuration (networking, file systems, registry settings, scripting) and Network configuration (TCP/IP, web servers, firewalls, security) is a must.
  • Oracle administration skills are required (SQL, installation, tablespaces, SQLnet).
  • Strong written communication skills are required (requirements spec, system design, proposals).
  • Strong oral communication is required (interaction with U.S.-based development team, requirements analysis, training).
  • Bachelors Degree in related technical field required (B.E. or B.Tech.), Masters Degree (M.E., M.Tech or MBA) preferred.
  • Some travel to the US may be required. (Amount will vary with client requirements)

SKILLS DESIRED

  • Experience with related/competing technologies a plus: BroadVision, Vignette, eGrail, Documentum, iPlanet, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, InterShop, Blue Martini, EpiCentric, PlumTree, etc.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Application Integration (e.g. TIBCO, WebMethods) and ERP systems a plus.
  • Experience with Interwoven TeamSite or other content management systems (Documentum, eGrail, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience with search engines (Verity, AltaVista, Autonomy, etc.), analytics (Accrue, BroadBase, Hyperion, etc), transaction processing (CyberSource, ClearCommerce, etc.) and directory services/security (Netegrity, LDAP, Active Directory) is desired.
