ATG Developer / Architect

As an ATG Developer or Architect you'll help leading companies solve critical business needs by building upon ATG’s leading-edge Dynamo J2EE web technology. You will be involved in the full lifecycle from analysis and planning to development and deployment. You will learn new business processes and automate them with today's and tomorrow's hottest technologies. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates will implement solutions to the specific needs of our various clients primarily using the ATG eBusiness platform. Business needs must be translated into effective technical solutions using several core technologies (web applications from ATG and others, and related technologies like Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, Oracle, SQL, HTML, XML, UML). Scalable, complex, transactional web sites will be created quickly by leveraging commercial tools.
This position's responsibilities also include:
- Build upon commercial web applications (ATG application server, content management personalization engine, B2C/B2B commerce platform, portal,) with custom code.
- Develop and document customizations to commercial products to meet the client’s requirements including object oriented design (UML), database changes, screen changes, security definition, workflow flowcharts, and custom documentation.
- Coding languages and environments including but not limited to Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, XML, HTML, UNIX/Windows systems administration, Oracle, and/or Interwoven Teamsite.
- Assist in analyzing client processes through needs analysis and recommending new business models, workflows, or innovative solutions.
- Suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, efficiency improvements, and better user experiences.
- Occasional mentoring of peers.
- Write documentation for requirements analysis, design specifications, deployment guides, test plans, or project workplans.
- Participate in overall project management, time estimation, and resource scheduling.
- Occasionally work with offshore development teams.
- Travel to client sites as needed.
- Provide weekly written status reports and expense reports.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Developer: Minimum of two years experience with and five to seven years total experience in IT.
- Architect: Minimum of five years experience with ATG and 10 years total experience in IT.
- Web site design (GUI tools, "user experience" designing, site structuring) and web technologies (HTML, Javascript, CSS, Perl, AJAX, Flash, etc.)
- Java (J2EE, EJB, JSP) and OO (UML, case tools, RUP) programming.
- Familiarity with architecting solutions (3-tier, H/W & S/W recommendations, load balancing, security).
- Familiarity with UNIX, Windows system configuration (networking, file systems, registry settings, scripting) or Network configuration (TCP/IP, web servers, firewalls, security).
- Familiarity with Enterprise Application Integration (e.g. TIBCO, WebMethods, Websphere MQ) and ERP systems a plus.
- Experience with Interwoven TeamSite or other content management systems (Documentum, stellart, eGrail, etc.) a plus.
- Experience with Oracle or other (DB2, Informix, Sybase, SQL Server) database development and interaction (SQL, installation, tablespaces, SQLnet).
- Experience with search engines (Verity, AltaVista, Autonomy, etc.), analytics (Accrue, BroadBase, etc), transaction processing (CyberSource, ClearCommerce, etc.) directory services/security (Netegrity, LDAP, Active Directory) a plus.
- Experience with related/competing technologies a plus: BroadVision, Vignette, eGrail, Documentum, iPlanet, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere Commerce Server (WCS), InterShop, Blue Martini, EpiCentric, PlumTree, MarketLive, Demandware, Microsoft Commerce, etc.
- Written communication (requirements spec, system design, test plans).
- Oral communication (customer interaction, requirements analysis, presentations, training).
